Can a revolution be revolutionized? At InLei®, we've been grappling with this question as we embarked on a journey of transformation. It's not a straightforward path, it requires time, energy, ambition, and the audacity to embark on a new adventure without any guaranteed success. But we're here to say, it's possible!

What was our biggest fear?

Our biggest fear was whether we could equal or surpass the excellent results we have already achieved. Projects of this magnitude require years of investment and resources. It's not easy to take such risks, especially when we already have an excellent line of high-quality products.

THE GREAT MOMENT IS APPROACHING. We are making great progress, and now, step by step, we want to take you on a journey through the innovations that await us in 2024.

The idea

The decision to renew our historic InLei® Lash Filler line began between 2019 and 2020. We committed to production and kept an eye on trends, deciding to improve our formulations to meet the growing market demand for 'greener' products without animal-derived ingredients, ‘vegan’.

The cosmetic world is constantly evolving, and each innovation brings new challenges and opportunities. Transitioning to more sustainable ingredients, like plant-based keratins, represents a significant leap forward. Such major changes require extensive testing to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the product is not compromised.

Our journey towards a new product line that would meet these needs took us three times longer than anticipated. But with hard work and determination, the future looked promising.

Development

Parallel to the development of a vegan formula, we have optimized the formulations and the washing method for a green, fast, and clean treatment. The objective was clear: to speed up and simplify the process without compromising the quality of the final result, both in terms of curling and thickening the eyelashes.

After testing several formulations and making numerous changes, we were ready. But not to launch the product. We were prepared for another round of efficacy testing, which was to be performed in a clinical laboratory. This was an essential step to ensure that the product really worked in terms of thickening the lashes. Between October and December 2022, we conducted tests at a renowned laboratory in Milan.

This time, the challenges were multiple:

  • Tests on different ethnic groups and 40 models (compared to 20 in the tests carried out on the classic Lash Filler line), for a total of 120 treatments;

  • Measurement not only of the thickness but also of the length of the eyelashes;

  • Comparative test to evaluate the effect of this renewed InLei® Lash Filler treatment with and without the daily use of the InLei® Adiutrix eyelash serum;

  • Introduction of a real "washing" of the eyelashes during the treatment, contrary to traditional practice.

The results

After three months of testing and almost two months of data analysis, we received the official documents on January 21, 2023. The results confirmed our hard work, with a 25% thickening and a 9% elongation of lashes.

But that's not all. By combining the treatment with the use of InLei® Adiutrix serum for three months, we also found a thickening of 28% and a 12% elongation. Stay tuned for more exciting news from InLei® as we continue to revolutionize the lash industry!

These results are exceptional, but our journey has just begun.

It is essential to underline that we have revolutionized the treatment by 60%, introducing a Lash Filler with ingredients of plant origin. We have modified the protocol by inserting a washing phase and adding a fourth product that reconstructs the eyelashes at a molecular level and concludes the treatment process. 

We have not made any changes to the first two solutions, InLei® Lash Form 1 and InLei® Lash Fix 2, as they were stable and vegan from the start and have always met all industry demands. There was no point in changing them since they were already perfect.

Next up: the certifications

The question arises spontaneously: Why are the products still not on sale despite these results? The answer lies in the fact that declaring yourself "vegan" and obtaining an official certification are two different things. We came across a scrupulous search for an organization with which to collaborate to achieve certification, a process that requires meticulous checks and the processing of a considerable amount of documents.

In the end, we are proud to have chosen VEGANOK, an organization with a history spanning over twenty years and a reputation internationally. Their ethical certification and dissemination mission aims to promote positive change every day for the benefit of everyone: humans, animals, and our planet.

In addition, as you can see from the symbols on the labels, many of the packaging materials used in our product range have been chosen with sustainability in mind. For example, we are proud to boast the internationally recognized FSC certification, which guarantees a correct forest management system and the traceability of derived products.

It does not end here. 

We continue to focus on the emotional aspect of packaging. InLei® is more than just a successful brand in the current context; it signifies something deeper. It's not merely a product, but a living entity, an experience aiming to engage users from various perspectives. Our goal is for anyone who encounters InLei® to perceive its values and experience it deeply, in ways transcending mere visual perception.

The brand should communicate its foundations, history, and reputation. It should embody a robust promise, establishing a profound connection with the consumer. As we always say, no matter how exceptional the formulation, if the packaging is not appealing, it is unlikely to be the customer's first choice. Our commitment to packaging has gained notoriety thanks to the velvety feel of our packages, the delicate scents, and the bright yet soft colours. The attention and effort we invest in packaging design are as significant as the commitment and dedication we put into product creation, as demonstrated above.

How do we perceive this new line?

  • Clean—This word immediately evokes the image of the treatment itself in customers: cleaning. It represents the absence of allergic reactions and a clear, defined, and unmistakable look.

  • Soft—The new line is enveloping and particularly delicate on the skin and, above all, on the eyes.

  • Elegant - This is the result of continuous innovations and customizations made specifically for our brand by the best Italian suppliers and specialists in the production of materials such as plastic, aluminum, and glass.

  • Essential—This line puts the eyes in the foreground, focusing on the essence of the gaze. It contains everything you need to perform a first-rate treatment without compromise.

And it doesn't end here. We are already designing a new kit, which we promise will be even more complete and exciting than the previous one. Quality and innovation are the watchwords of the InLei® staff. We can't wait to share with you what we have in store!
