Korean Lash Technique Vs Lash Filler

Let's Address the Elephant in the Room:

Can You Use the Korean Lash Lift Technique with InLei® Lash Filler?

Short answer: No - not with the Lash Filler Line as it currently stands… but we do have an exciting product in the works which makes this possible.

Long answer? Let’s talk about why — and why that’s not a bad thing.

What's the Korean Lash Lift Technique, and Why Is It Trending?

The Korean Lash Lift technique has gained significant traction online, especially on social media, thanks to its ability to achieve bold, full-length lash lifts with stunning results. The technique, developed in Korea, allows for the lifting solution to be applied along nearly the entire lash — from root to tip — something that differs from traditional lash lifts where caution is needed to avoid over-processing at the roots and ends. Further, the Korean method is glue-less, meaning no adhesive is required throughout the process.

But here's something important to note: the Korean method was developed for Korean lashes — lashes that tend to be naturally straight, coarse, and shorter than many other ethnicities. The technique was created out of necessity for those specific hair structures — and while it’s a beautiful method for the right client, it’s not universally ideal.

So, Why Can’t You Use the Korean Technique with InLei® Lash Filler?

The core difference lies in the chemistry — and this is where we want to be extremely clear.

Many Korean Lash Lift methods are performed using cysteamine-based products, which are milder, slower-processing, and formulated to allow application across more of the lash. This makes them particularly well-suited for full-length application.

InLei® Lash Filler, on the other hand, is a thioglycolic acid (TGA)-based system — but not the outdated kind you're thinking of. InLei’s formula is part of a new generation of TGA systems, supported by years of research and development to deliver scientifically-proven results.

However, due to the strength of TGA, our products are not designed to be applied all the way to the tips or too close to the root — doing so could risk over-processing the more fragile parts of the lash.

So no — the current line up of InLei® Lash Filler products are not compatible with the Korean Lash Lift method as it’s currently practiced with cysteamine-based products. But this is by design. We prioritize lash health above all else, and our method has been tailored to achieve safety, consistency, and lash regeneration over time.

The Truth About Cysteamine vs. TGA

Let’s be transparent: there’s a lot of noise in the industry right now. With cysteamine gaining popularity, many brands are rushing to create or rebrand themselves as “healthier alternatives.” But the truth isn’t that simple.

Cysteamine is different, not necessarily better. Like any chemical, it has pros and cons. It processes slower, which can reduce the risk of over-processing — but that doesn’t automatically make it superior. The success of a lash lift is not just about the chemical base, but also about the formulation, processing times, lash assessment, and aftercare.

InLei® has invested years — and partnered with leading European research institutions — to create a TGA-based product that does more than just lift. Our Lash Filler system is a complete treatment that’s clinically proven to increase lash thickness by up to 25% in just three sessions. We are proud to be a brand that not only beautifies, but strengthens and protects.

What About InLei® USA & Australia and the Korean Lash Lift?

You may have seen that InLei® USA and Australia recently launched a Korean Lash Lift technique using InLei® products.

Here’s what you may not know: InLei® is in the final stages of developing an innovative product additive that softens the strength of the lifting solution, making it safe for extended-length application — similar to the Korean method. This product is not yet released, but has been undergoing extensive testing across InLei® territories with exceptional results. USA and Australia have released their Korean Lash Lift course, which revolves around the addition of a new ‘Thickening Powder’, teaching people how to accurately complete Korean Lash Lifts, ahead of the launch of this new product.

This fundamental product allows for more versatile application while still using our core TGA-based system — giving lash artists more tools to adapt the lift to a client’s unique lash structure.

At InLei® Canada, we’re watching this development with excitement, and we’ll continue to update our artist community as more information becomes available.

Final Thoughts: Trends vs. Truth

We understand that clients and artists want to stay at the forefront of innovation — so do we. But we also believe in science over hype, safety over speed, and long-term lash health over viral trends.

The Korean Lash Lift method is a beautiful technique, when used correctly, on the right client, with the right product. But it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution — and it’s not inherently superior.

At InLei® Canada, we are committed to empowering lash artists with education, not fear. We don’t chase trends. We set standards. And our focus remains the same: beautiful, healthy, strong lashes — for every client, every time.
